Glow in the dark.

9th Mar 2026

In our story “I don’t want to go to bed” Little Tiger goes out in the dark to visit his friends instead of going to bed. In the dark he meets someone with “bright luminous eyes”…who could it be?……it’s Bush Baby! We found out that Bush Baby was nocturnal…that means he comes out at night, it’s our new favourite word! We wanted to find out about glowing things so we did an experiment…we love being scientists. We got some glow sticks and decided to find out how they would glow in hot and cold water and would there be any differences. We had a big class discussion and Mrs Sheehy wrote our ideas on the board, she was very impressed! When the glow sticks were put in the water we discovered that the one in the hot water glowed faster and brighter…would you have guessed right? Afterwards we got to have fun in the dark with our glow sticks, the P7 girls came over and helped us make bracelets and necklaces, we went into the hall and pretended to be Bush Baby in the dark, there where lots of giggles! Especially when we saw that Karen had some in her hair! We then went down to P4 and Mrs Young closed all her curtains and put on come music and we all danced and sang with the P4s…Karen called it the annual P1 Rave…it was so much fun and we had the best time, thank you  Mrs Young and P4. It was fun glowing in the dark, but we think it’s much better to be in bed!
